{"id":2737,"date":"2025-04-06T09:33:38","date_gmt":"2025-04-06T00:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sakae-pat.jp\/?p=2737"},"modified":"2025-04-07T09:57:05","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T00:57:05","slug":"jpo-status-report-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sakae-pat.jp\/en\/en-others\/jpo-status-report-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"JPO Status Report 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Japan Patent Office announced the release of the JPO Status Report 2025, a compilation of statistical information and policy outcomes from 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to JPO, the total number of patent applications in 2024 is 306,855, and slightly increased (2.24% up) compared to the total number of patent applications in 2023 (300,133).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the one hand, the number of patent applications by country\/region of applicant in 2024 (Top 10 Countries\/Regions) is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"877\" height=\"494\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sakae-pat.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2738\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sakae-pat.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image.png 877w, https:\/\/www.sakae-pat.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image-840x473.png 840w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Except Japan, US predominates in the number of patent applications, and China follows it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, according to JPO, the total number of trademark applications in 2024 is 158,792, and slightly decreased (3.21% down) compared to the total number of trademark applications in 2023 (164,061). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, the following is the number of trademark applications by country\/region of applicant in 2024 (Top 10 Countries\/Regions).
